I never heard of a meat market but there were always 'dear' hunters at every assembly.

Did Your District Conventions Have A Meat Market?
by Jeremy C ini was recently thinking back upon some of my unusual memories of being in the organization.
one of them was of the dodger stadium "meat market".. we used to attend our district conventions at dodger stadium in los angeles.
for those of you who arent familiar with the stadium, dodger stadium has a very large level with blue seats - which is the largest level within the stadium.

jesus denies being God! scriptural discussion.
by reniaa ini thought after recently reading the bible i would put up for disussion some recent scriptures up which for me show that jesus never viewed himself as god and anyone listening would also see it this way too.. first mark 10 :17-20.
17as jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him.
"good teacher," he asked, "what must i do to inherit eternal life?

Why does "jesus" open the pit of demons?
by cameo-d ini know jws teach that jesus has mpd and is also angel micheal.
i don't know why they think this.. but anyway...my question is....why would jesus open the pit of demons and sic them on everybody?.
are these demons "annointed" to do the slaughtering at armageddon?.

Holidays-nervous about celebrating them but don't understand why.

i believe i have become agnostic in a short period of time.

My daughters and I had our first Halloween last year. We were nervous too but only had to go to a couple doors and we were hooked. It was soo much fun.
The weather was unusually warm and all the people were out on their porches to admire all the costumes.
Even the people who weren't home left treats out with signs to take one.
We're going again this year, I'm only sorry it took so long to try it. -

Spirits
by Newborn inwhat's your take on the spirit realm?
are there angels, demons, ghosts?
how do you otherwise explain those who for a fact are demonpossessed, scourged, woodoo, mediums, people who experience things moving and sounding in there homes etc.. a missonary in kenya once told me she studied with a demonpossessed woman and that the sister herself spoke with the demon and told him/her to leave and said jehovahs name.

I believe there are energies and entities that are able to interact with us Not sure that I would call them spirits or ghosts. I don't believe in demons at all. Jehovah and YHWH are used extensively in magick spells and the Kabballah. I don't think just saying that name would do anything if an entity is bothering you. Maybe it would leave a person alone because they're invoking a magickal name?

"Do not destroy" your file after reinstatement ...
by compound complex inkarl adams, writing department overseer, wrote a letter to president knorr (november 18, 1971), questioning the keeping of voluminous files containing embarrassing information on disfellowshipped persons.
even after individuals were reinstated, their files were retained:.
"at the present time the names of even those reinstated are kept in the file, and bulky records are kept of their cases, labeled 'do no destroy.

That is too creepy. Where do they usually keep these sordid files and who has access to them? If they're just in sealed envelopes then couldn't just anyone open and read them and then just put them back in a new envelope?

Teenage Behavior: DF'ing Not Necessary
by metatron ini have observed a number of witness teenagers who left the 'truth'.
i have also observed that most of them end up as responsible members of society as a result of their own path to maturity - and df'ing doesn't help the process.. the typical duty of most parents of teenagers is to prevent their offspring from doing drugs, getting pregnant, crashing a car or going to jail.
once you get beyond that, most kids get tired of hangovers, get wise to their foolishness and settle down into conservative behavior that matches their parents.. what they don't need is interference and judicial examination by external busybodies who can separate them from their families and friends at a deeply critical moment in their lives.

Teenagers learn best by making mistakes. Parents have to try and protect them ffrom the major things that can damage them but beyond that they have to be allowed to make some mistakes and not be made to feel that they've committed some great sin by being young and inexperienced. They need to feel their family and especially their parents will be there for them when they mess up. there isn't any place for shunning, public ridicule or belittling in raising teenagers.

Tell Simon why we want JWD to stay... our apprecaition...
by burningbridges inok, i'll start, maybe if we can all tell simon our reason why this site means so much to us he will reconsider and leave it here.
this site has given me the courage to speak out.
i used to be ashamed of my history with the witnesses.

I'm fairly new here and haven't gotten up the nerve to say much but I really want to say how much everyone here has helped me. I have learned a lot from everyone and I honestly feel that being here has helped my marriage to a JW. Many times I have turned here to get answers to tough qestions and there are many more questions that you taught me to ask.
Count me among the people who use this site to help get others out.
Thank you for everything, please reconsider.

Interesting
Pentograms show balance between the elements and spirit.
I think I have to add this to my research.
